Loss of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 in osteoblasts impaired the bone healing in inflammatory microenvironment

Abstract: IntroductionThis study aimed to investigate the effect of Stat3 on the osteoblast‐mediated bone healing in the inflammatory lesion.MethodsThe conditional knockout of Stat3 in osteoblasts (Stat3 CKO) was generated via the Cre‐loxP recombination system using Osterix‐Cre transgenic mice. The calvarial bone inflammatory lesions were established on both Stat3 CKO and wild‐type mice, then harvested to assess the bone healing. In response to lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation, osteoblasts from Stat3 CKO and wild‐ty… Show more

“…Therefore, the Prx1 fibroblast subset recruits macrophages that are key to regulation of wound healing (Chen et al, 2023). (Feng et al, 2023). Bone remodelling physiology is further explored by Duarte et al, who show that local injection of a neutralising anti-IL-34 monoclonal antibody reduced alveolar bone loss in a murine model of ligature periodontitis.…”
