Loop effect in the coherent neutrino-nucleus scattering

Abstract: A connection between the neutrino and an exotic fermion is described in the general neutrino model. In this model the neutrinos can convert into the new fermion and thus the interaction leads to novel recoil spectrum in the neutrino scattering experiments. We study the general neutrino interaction by evaluating both the tree-level and loop-level contributions to the coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering. We illustrate the scattering by taking the framework of a simplified neutrino model with a Dirac fer… Show more

“…The reliable estimate of the flavor observable relies on the UV completion realization. As the K → π transitions are induced by flavor changing neutral currents, they set stringent constraints on g q coupling for up-type quarks [5,25]. We thus assume non-universal g q couplings for up-type and down-type quarks and neglect the up-type quark coupling in the following calculations.…”

“…As a result, for the pseudoscalar or axial quark interaction, the full calculation involving the loop corrections would lead to sizable recoil events in DM direct detection experiments. We can apply the spirit of this loop effect to consider the loop corrections of the above inelastic neutrino scattering process [25].…”

“…The couplings between the neutrinos and sub-GeV DM through the scattering off nucleus have been studied in refs. [2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. There are also plenty of novel models and signatures proposed to search for sub-GeV DM through the scattering off electrons [10][11][12][13][14][15].…”
