The methods for removal of adhesiveness in pikeperch eggs were compared in this study . Following the hormonal induction with carp pituitary, eggs of three females were used in each of two trials. Firstly, three common methods were tested: tannic acid, enzyme and milk. Tannic acid treatment led to poor hatching (2.5±0.5%), significantly lower than the other treatments (75.5±19.3% and 72.3±28.8%, enzyme and milk, respectively). In order to find the source of negative outcome, in the second trial the influence of water hardness on the tannic acid bath was tested through three treatments with varying concentrations of disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid salt (NA 2 EDTA). Softening of the tannic acid bath did not lead to improved hatching rates (5.5±1.3%, 3.5±1.5% and 2.7±1.3% for 0, 400 and 800 ppm of EDTA, respectively). Evaluation of the effects of tannin and EDTA on water chemistry revealed that the use of tannin can alter the embryonic development and hatching process. While de-adhesion procedure with milk appeared to be impractical, the application of tannic acid bath leads to variable and lower hatching outcomes. Thus, usage of enzymes was found to be the most promising method which should be further described for straightforward implementation in practice.

 RESUMOAs proteases fibrinolíticas são capazes de degradar coágulos de fibrina formados dentro dos vasos sanguíneos, evitando a trombose intravascular. Em animais, a tromboflebite, que acomete frequentemente os equinos, ocasiona, em seus casos graves, a obstrução jugular e também um edema de laringe, derivando a obstrução das vias aéreas, o que possibilita um edema cerebral, ocorrendo o óbito do animal. Devido ao fato de o tratamento ser de custo elevado, faz-se necessária a investigação de outras fontesde proteases fibrinolíticas com custos menores e com menos efeitos colaterais. Diante disso, este estudo tem como objetivo produzir e caracterizar proteases fibrinolíticas obtidas de Streptomyces parvulus DPUA 1573. Para produção da enzima, foi utilizado um planejamento fatorial 2 4 avaliando a concentração da farinha de soja (0,5, 1,0 e 1,5%) e da glicose (0, 0,5 e 1,0g/L), temperatura (28, 32 e 37ºC) e agitação (150, 200 e 250rpm) sobre a biomassa e a atividade fibrinolítica. Pode-se verificar que a protease fibrinolítica apresentou atividade máxima (835U/mL) nas condições de concentração de 1,5% de soja, 1g/L de glicose, 28°C e 150rpm com 48 horas de fermentação. A protease fibrinolítica obtida teve temperatura e pH ótimos de 55°C e pH 9,0, respectivamente. A atividade enzimática foi inibida pelo EDTA, pelo íon Fe 2+ e pelo SDS, o que indicou a enzima ser uma metaloprotease. A linhagem Streptomyces parvulus DPUA 1573 foi capaz de produzir protease fibrinolítica, possuindo características bioquímicas favoráveis à aplicação na medicina veterinária e possivelmente humana. In animals, thrombophlebitis often affects horses, and in severe cases causes obstruction of the jugular and laryngeal edema leading to airway obstruction allowing cerebral edema resulting in the death of the animal. Since treatment is costly, the investigation of other sources of fibrinolytic proteases at lower costand with fewer side effects is needed. Thus, this study aims to produce and characterize fibrinolytic proteases from Streptomyces parvulus DPUA 1573. HIV-1 reverse transcriptase (HIV-1 RT) is a therapeutic target for the treatment of HIV-positive individuals or those already showing AIDS symptoms. In this perspective, the identifi cation of new inhibitors for this enzyme is of great importance in view of the growing viral resistance to the existing treatments. This resistance has compromised the quality of life of those infected with multidrug-resistant strains, whose treatment options are already limited, putting at risk these individuals lives. The literature has recognized marine organisms and their products as natural sources for the identifi cation of new therapeutic options for different pathologies. In this brief review, we consider the structure of HIV-1 RT and its most common inhibitors, as well as some marine diterpenes originally reported as HIV-1 RT inhibitors to encourage the identifi cation and development of new marine antiviral prototypes.
