Longitudinal structure function using Thermodynamical Bag model

Abstract: A thermodynamical bag model is used to calculate the nucleon structure function by treating the quarks and gluons as Fermi and Bose gases. In this article this model is used to calculate the longitudinal structure function which is related to the ratio of absorption cross section for longitudinally and transversely polarized virtual photons. This can then be compared with the corresponding experimental values and other models. It is found to agree well with experimental data.
