Abstract:Introduction: Longitudinal melanonychia presents with pigmented longitudinal streaks of the nail plate. It results from an increased activity of melanocytes or melanocytic hyperplasia in the nail matrix or nail bed and is associated with increased melanin deposition in the nail plate.
