Our results correspond to reports by Keech et al (1989) (12.5% of eyes, mean follow-up time of 3.7 years), Mills & Robb (1994) (14.4% of eyes, 5.8 years), Robb & Petersen (1992) (15% of patients, 10.3 years), Parks et al (1993) (15% of eyes, 5.54 years) and Egbert et al (1995) (9.7% of patients, ±5 years). In contrast to these studies, Simon et al (1991) reported a higher prevalence (24% of eyes), without indicating the exact mean follow-up time (approximately 7 years) and Johnson & Keech (1996) reported a prevalence of 32% of patients with a mean follow-up time of approximately 7 years.…”
