Abstract: Introduction. In phenylketonuria (PKU) toxic phenylalanine (Phe) can harm other organs beyond the brain. Furthermore, the lifelong therapy of PKU consists of consumption of increased amounts of amino acid mixture that provoke hyperfiltration in glomeruli.
