“…The Biotube has already been clinically applied as an alternative blood vessel for bypass to a chronic limb-threating ischemia patient 13 or hemodialysis patients. The patch implantation of the Biosheets into the partial tracheal defects in beagle dogs resulted in the reconstruction of the tracheal tissue by covering the ciliated epithelium on the lumen surface and the partial infiltration of chondrocyte aggregates in the middle wall 18 . When the Biotube was implanted circumferentially into the trachea, stenosis occurred within a few days owing to its insufficient strength.…”
