Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is the target of the Rosetta mission. On the basis of backward numerical integrations of a large set of simulated comets whose initial conditions were obtained from small variations of the orbital parameters of comet 67P, and using the analysis of suitable chaos indicators, we detect the phase-space structure of the past close encounters of the comet with Jupiter. On the basis of these computations we find that the probability that the comet could have been injected into the inner solar system from distances larger than 100 AU from the Sun in the past 150 000 years is about 60 percent.

Abstract.A project for astrometric and photometric observations of asteroids at the Baldone Observatory is described. One of the most important results of the project is the discovery of 2008 OS9, a 600 meter asteroid of the NEO Apollo group. The results of its astrometric and photometric observations at the Molėtai and Baldone observatories are presented. From the brightness variation with the 0.27 mag amplitude, a rotation period of 8.430 ± 0.005 h is determined. Close approaches of the asteroid to Earth and Venus during the next millenium are predicted. The mean values of secular changes in the semi-major axis, eccentricity and inclination are computed with and without the Yarkovsky and YORP effects. A negative value of the difference between the value of semimajor axis computed with the Yarkovsky and YORP effects and without them, da/dt, may indicate retrograde rotation of the asteroid.

We determine the three-dimensional shape of near-Earth asteroid (101955) Bennu based on radar images and optical lightcurves. Bennu was observed both in 1999 at its discovery apparition, and in 2005 using the 12.6-cm radar at the Arecibo Observatory and the 3.5-cm radar at the Goldstone tracking station. Data obtained in both apparitions were used to construct a shape model of this object. Observations were also obtained at many other wavelengths to characterize this object, some of which were used to further constrain the shape modeling (Clark et al., 2011;Hergenrother et al., 2013; Krugly et al., 1999). The lightcurve data, along with an initial determination of the rotation period derived from them, simplified and improved the shape modeling.Below we briefly describe the observations and shape modeling process. We discuss the shape model and the implications for the possible formation and evolution of this object. We also describe the importance and limitations of the shape model in view of the fact that this object is the target of the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft mission.
