“…The rate of CR (3.9%) and PR (53.0%) in control group was similar with 4.3% and 51.7% reported by Zeng (2014). The CR rate 85% of patients following radiotherapy was higher than 50.0% in control group and 64.3% reported in the literature (Kang et al 2013) after dose-dense chemotherapy. And the median 0S, survival rate in 2 and 3 year were increased for 19.1months, 39.1% and 47.4% than control group.…”

“…Mean achieved temperature profiles differed vastly between 39 and 43°C. In trials using multiple HT specification, higher temperatures or HT frequencies were associated with better outcome (88, 100, 116). This underlines the necessity of optimizing HT schedules to optimize the treatment effect.…”

“…Three other randomized trials with a total of 417 patients recently analyzed the effects of trimodal treatment combing RT, CT, and HT in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinomas (8890). Two studies reporting CR showed a significant advantgae for RTHTCT treatment.…”

“…Hyperthermia combined with radiotherapy or chemotherapy can increase the drug concentration in tumour cells or reduce the required radiation dose, thus augmenting anticancer effects and mitigating side effects. The long-term efficacy of microwave hyperthermia combined with chemoradiotherapy for treating NPC with metastatic foci in cervical lymph nodes was evaluated by Kang et al [6]. It has been shown that microwave hyperthermia combined with chemoradiotherapy can increase local control, disease-free survival and 3-and 5-year overall survival rates of patients with N2 $ N3 stage NPC.…”
