Long-term dynamic behavior of a sandy subgrade reinforced by Waste Tire Textile Fibers (WTTFs)

Urgent repair and construction of airstrips is a research hotspot in global airport engineering. Selecting the proper structural materials is a key component of the airstrip repair process. First, with unconfined compressive strength and splitting tensile strength, the fiber length and content of polypropylene (PP) fiber-reinforced solidified soil were optimized. Then, using a scanning electron microscope, the reinforcing mechanism of PP fiber on soil and the influence mechanism of fiber parameters on fiber-reinforced soil were discussed and analyzed. Lastly, a full-scale test section was paved, on which static and dynamic loading tests were performed to verify the carrying capacity and deformation characteristics of the full-scale test section. The above research provides a theoretical foundation and data support for the urgent repair and construction of airstrip. Results indicate that PP fiber with length of 12 mm and fiber content of 0.3% has optimal performance and economic cost. The reinforcing mechanism of fiber-reinforced soil can be summarized to be the effect of a one-dimensional lacing wire and the effect of a three-dimensional network structure. Fibers show two failure modes of pull-out and tensile failure. After 20000 dynamic loading cycles, the stress at the bottom of each structural section varies less, the graded plastic deformation is stable, and the cumulative plastic deformations of the fiber-reinforced soil base, solidified soil base, and cemented soil base pavement structures are 0.83 mm, 0.93 mm, and 1.2 mm, respectively. Pavement structure composed of fiber-reinforced solidified soil can meet the load capacity requirements for use in airstrips under the characteristics of time-sensitive application.

Perdirbant padangas, gumos granulės ir metalo pluoštas sėkmingai naudojami pakartotinai, tačiau padangų tekstilės pluošto (PTP) atliekos yra gana didelė problema. Mokslininkai vykdo tyrimus, bandydami šias padangų tekstilės pluošto atliekas, naudoti šiluminei izoliacijai, nes čia matomas didelis jų potencialas. Kadangi šiluminė izoliacija turi artimą ryšį su garso sugertimi, manoma, kad PTP sėkmingai tiktų panaudoti ir triukšmui patalpose mažinti. Tyrimo metodas remiasi ISO 10534-2 standartu, kuriuo būtų nustatytas medžiagos garso sugerties koeficientas α naudojant impedanso vamzdį. Tyrimo metu gauti rezultatai parodė, kad PTP atliekos turi geras garso sugerties savybes, garso sugerties koeficientas, esant žemiems dažniams 250–500 Hz, buvo 0,06–0,52, o esant aukštesniems dažniams – 1000–1600 Hz, sugerties koeficientas varijavo tarp 0,44–0,94. Šios medžiagos naudojimas būtų puiki alternatyva šiuo metu naudojamoms tradicinėms mineralinėms pluoštinėms medžiagoms.

： Problems of large settlements and uneven settlements on the road always happen during service stage. Reinforced embankments can reduce these problems. But currently the study on the mechanical properties of reinforced embankments during service stage are so few, and lack of measured data. This study uses numerical simulation and on-site measured data analysis to set up a geogrid creep damage model and traffic load model. Based on the analysis of the mechanical properties of reinforced embankment under the conditions of new test section and widening test section, the influence laws of traffic load amplitude, frequency and driving interval on reinforced embankment are obtained. When the traffic load amplitude is 2 0 , there is little difference in settlement between the two test sections, but the settlement ratio gets the maximum value of 0.028 mm/d when the amplitude is 2 0 . When the traffic load frequency increases from 1 Hz to 4 Hz, the embankment settlement is in the sudden settlement stage, and the settlement is almost stable after 4 Hz. When the driving interval is greater than 4 s, the rebound value and rebound time are almost stable.
