“…The down regulation of PPAR signaling in the zebrafish IL6-OE suggests that it might serve as an alternative to model NAFLD in humans. In a recently published study adult male zebrafish exposed to bisphenol S accumulate fat in the liver (34). This model also shows a down regulation of PPAR alpha expression.…”

“…BPS can enter the body in a variety of ways, such as through diet, skin contact, water input, and food-chain transmission. BPS has been detected in surface water samples from major rivers in many countries at concentrations up to 7.2 μg/L. The average BPS concentration in urine samples ( n = 315) in the United States and seven Asian countries is 0.654 ng/mL, and the concentration in serum samples ( n = 240) in China is 1.43 ng/mL . In mice and zebrafish, BPS causes a significant increase in plasma lipids, , which is a key precondition for atherosclerosis (AS) pathogenesis. Furthermore, low-dose BPS had a proarrhythmic impact on female rat hearts, similar to the risk of cardiovascular disease conferred by BPA .…”

“…If the liver is damaged, the absorption of yolk sac will be disturbed. Therefore, the absorption of yolk sac can also reflect the degree of liver injury (Sant and Timme-Laragy, 2018; Wang et al, 2019; Zhang et al, 2021). When the liver is seriously affected or chemicals induce hypertrophy or atrophy, the liver size may change (Zhang et al, 2014).…”
