Long noncoding RNA LINC00346 promotes glioma cell migration, invasion and proliferation by up‐regulating ROCK1

Abstract: Long noncoding RNAs have key roles in glioma progression. However, the function and mechanisms of action of the long noncoding RNA, LINC00346, in glioma remain unclear. In our study, we observed that LINC00346 levels were increased in glioma tissue samples, and according to Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis, its levels were related to disease‐free survival and overall survival rates, suggesting that a high level of LINC00346 expression corresponds to a poor prognosis. We next confirmed the high le… Show more

“…FAM181A-AS1 was demonstrated that enhanced proliferation and survivability of glioma cells [ 39 ] (p2) . LINC00346 was confirmed to regulate glioma angiogenesis, migration, invasion, and proliferation [ 40 , 41 ]. The expression of LINC00461 was significantly increased in stem cell-like/anti-therapeutic GBM cells [ 42 ].…”

“…Specifically, downregulated MIAT (FC = 1.48, FDR = 0.05), MIR4697HG (FC = 1.68, FDR = 0.04), and LINC00342 (FC = 1.51, FDR = 0.03) have been reported in neurological diseases 21–23 . Meanwhile, the overexpressed LINC00346 (FC = 1.58, FDR = 0.04) and MEG3 (FC = 1.46, FDR = 0.05) are known to be upregulated in neurological diseases 24,25 . In particular, overexpression of VTRNA2‐1 (also called svtRNA2‐1a ; FC = 1.58, FDR = 0.03) has been reported to reduce neuron basal viability 26 .…”

“…H19 was reported to be upregulated in high-grade glioma and facilitated the proliferation of diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma ( Roig-Carles et al, 2021 ). LINC00346 promotes cell migration, proliferation, and apoptosis by targeting ROCK1( Chen et al, 2020 ) and miR-128-3p/SZRD1 axis ( Geng et al, 2020 ) in glioma. Overexpression of LINC00475 was observed in hypoxic gliomas and silencing LINC00475 results in suppression of tumor proliferation, migration, as well as invasion ( Yu et al, 2020a ).…”
