Long Non-Coding RNAs H19 and HOTAIR Implicated in Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

Abstract: Objective: Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is the major cause of low back pain. We aimed to identify the key genes for IDD pathogenesis. Methods: An integrated analysis of microarray datasets of IDD archived in public Gene Expression Omnibus was performed. Bioinformatics analyses including identification of differentially expressed mRNAs/microRNAs/long non-coding RNAs (DEMs/DEMis/DELs), pathway enrichment, and competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network construction were performed to give insights into th… Show more

“…49 The activation of JAK/STAT signaling promotes the occurrence and development of various diseases, including IDD. 23,50 Resveratrol reversed the degeneration of NPCs by increasing ECM production (collagen II and aggrecan), and repressing the activation of JAK1/STAT3 and the secretion of IL-6. 51 Meanwhile, STAT3 could combine with NLRP3 to promote cell death.…”
