According to the State of the Global Islamic Economic report by Thomson Reuters in collaboration with Dinar Standard, the global Muslim market destination was valued at $140 billion in 2013, representing 11.5% of global spending. The same report also shows that the segment was worth $238 billion in 2019 and represented 13% of global spending. The Muslim consumer market has been recognized as another important segment for cross-sectoral businesses. The increasing interest has made researchers begin to focus their research on halal tourism. The increasing population and purchasing power of Muslims around the world, as well as the new era of modernization reinforce the trend of increasing halal lifestyle in tourism. Sharia values will be more practiced as a way of life by seeing this condition the global market must respond to the needs, preferences, and unique market orientations as well as economic values and trade. One of the halal lifestyle trends in Indonesia currently consists of the tourism sector, namely Halal Travel. This study aims to determine the development map and trends of Halal Travel. The data analyzed were more than 67 Scopus indexed research publications. The export data is then processed and analyzed using the VOSviewer application program to find out the bibliometric map of the development of Halal Travel. The results of the study show that the number of publications on the development of the role of Halal Travel research continues to increase.

Secara umum, sektor pariwisata dikembangkan oleh pemerintah konvensional, sementara itu yang Syariah tidak banyak berkembang. Wisata halal Islami sangat mendukung nilai-nilai keislaman yang berlandaskan Al Quran dan bersifat Sunnah. Konsep wisata halal tidak jauh berbeda dengan wisata pada umumnya, yang membedakan hanya produk halal yang ditawarkan, wisata harus sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Islam dan hal-hal yang ditetapkan oleh Majelis Ulama Indonesia. Perkembangan wisata halal di Indonesia saat ini sedang menjadi trend mengingat Indonesia memiliki penduduk muslim terbesar di dunia.Salah satu wisata halal yang mendapatkan penghargaan Abu Dhabi terletak di pulau Lombok Nusa Tenggara BaratPenelitian ini digunakan dengan menggunakan penelitian kualitatif yaitu metode pengumpulan data seperti studi pustaka, wawancara, pengamatan, dan dokumentasi. Lokasi penelitian tersebut dilakukan di yaitu Pulau Rupat Utara yang merupakan salah satu destinasi wisata Kawasan Strategis Pariwisata Nasional.Pengembangan potensi wisata halal di Pantai Rupat Utara sangat erat kaitannya dengan peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat yang terus berkembang dengan dukungan pariwisata yang baik terutama bagi usaha kecil, menengah dan besar di sekitar daerah tujuan wisata. Dalam alam, pariwisata memiliki 3 (tiga) model ekonomi, yaitu: 1) wisatawan sebagai konsumen 2) pembayaran sesuai dengan tujuan 3) barang dan jasa. Pengembangan wisata halal merupakan strategi terpadu pemerintah untuk menarik wisatawan muslim ke destinasi wisata.Destinasi halal Pantai Rupat menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai budaya dan Islam.. The development of the halal tourism industry in Indonesia has increased in recent years. It is along with the support of the central government and also some local governments. Bukittinggi City in the Province of West Sumatra is a tourist city that has the potential to develop halal tourism. This study examines the model of managing Halal Tourism in the Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra Province, with the Penta Helix model that must involve various parties. The data was obtained from a questionnaire filled out by tourism policy stakeholders in the Bukittinggi City, which included business operators, local government officials, academics, religious leaders, and community leaders. The data is then processed by calculating the Priority matrix to produce alternative policies for the development of halal tourism. Collaboration between all components is very crucial. Policy priorities that must be selected and implemented by the Bukittinggi City government and all tourism people to develop halal tourism based on Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and SWOT analysis are a collaboration with all tourism stakeholders, increase awareness of the importance of halal products, including in the field of tourism, and overcoming the limitations of halal restaurants and sharia hotels certified by Indonesian Ulama Council (MUI). This research contributes to the development of halal tourism in other areas to remain in accordance with Islamic values but also in harmony with local customs and culture. Contribution/ Originality: This study contributes to the development of a halal tourism management model at the city level by considering local wisdoms. countries, the OIC seeks the potential for Muslim tourism (outside the Hajj and umrah) reached 80 billion US $ in 2006, which then increased to 145 US $ in 2014 (OKI-SESRIC, 2017).
