Loki zupa alleviates inflammatory and fibrotic responses in cigarette smoke induced rat model of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Abstract: Background: Loki zupa formula is kind of a traditional medicines which used to treat airway diseases, especially those caused by abnormal phlegm, such as cough, asthma and chronic bronchitis. The study aim was to explore the anti-inflammatory and anti-remodeling effects of Loki zupa by using a cigarette-smoke induced rat model of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Methods: The rats were divided into five groups: the normal group, the model group, the LZ 4 g/kg and LZ8g/ kg group, and the positive control g… Show more

“…In addition, for RNA-seq, we applied two group-based (drug vs model group) analysis, not three group-based (combine model vs control group with drug vs model group) analysis. Although two group-and three group-based analyses are both widely used in pharmacological transcriptomics analysis, [54][55][56][57] the latter is more precise. For two group-based analysis, we can tell the overall effects of drug on certain disease model by comparing drug group to model group; For three group-based analysis, we can tell the corrective effects of drug on certain disease model by integrating model vs control group with drug vs model group.…”

“…In another common disease of the respiratory system, COPD, LKZP improves lung function and airway inflammation by inhibiting the IL6/pla2g2a signalling pathway, and it alleviates lung tissue fibrosis in COPD rats by intervening in the TGF-β/smad2/3 signalling pathway (Mohammadtursun et al. 2020 ). To explore the efficacy and mechanism of LKZP in the entire process of asthma attacks, an acute bronchial asthma model in Balb/c mice was created by OVA, and LKZP was administrated to asthmatic mice in the present study.…”
