Health services have exceptional importance in service industries since they serve human health and public welfare. Successful health services are required to be of high quality, efficient and consistent, while economics principles are taken into account. Supply chain management is considered as a mean to attain all of these conditions. Considering that logistics management is an important function in hospital management, this paper examines the potential reasons for logistical differences between government and private hospitals in Erzincan, Turkey. There are different variables that may cause these differences such as: a logistics department's area of responsibility, like procurement, goods receiving, internal distribution, and information technology systems; the quantity of pharmaceutical products distributed; the level of corporation among hospitals and their suppliers; the previous and future plans of hospitals in developing the logistics management. Therefore, this study provides an appraisal of healthcare supply chain management by underlining the areas of improvements and determining obstacles for applying logistics management practices.

This paper focuses on efficient e-procurement mechanisms that enable hospitals and pharmaceutical suppliers to electronically exchange contractual information, aided by the technologies of optimisation and business rules. E-procurement offers hospitals and ambulatory facilities several notable advantages: convenience, efficiency, broad selection, favourable pricing, information on new products and even more. Optimisation and business rules technologies can help meet buyers' needs and bring a higher level of efficiency to key tasks such as formatting multi-supplier catalogues, costing out indirect procurement alternatives, optimising the sourcing of indirect goods and services, mapping approval processes and following the progress of specific purchase orders. This article presents EPOS which is triggered by the consumer's request, offers the participants the ability to dynamically constellate with other medical suppliers, and promotes collective competition among the constellations.

The first section of this chapter on determinants of parenting presents a brief overview of cognitions and practices that principally instantiate parenting and then discusses parents, the principal actors in the human drama of caregiving. As a transition to the main focus of the chapter on the multiple determinants of parenting, the chapter next addresses a series of methodological concerns useful in understanding and unpackaging determinants of parenting and point to some gaps in the literature that suggest future directions of research in the field. The chapter then turns to its main concern:— a in‐depth review of the multiple determinants of parenting in parents, in children, and in diverse contexts. The chapter then tackles translational implications of the multilevel approach to determinants of parenting and concludes with a concise overview of central considerations in the field.
