Logic Fragments: A Coordination Model Based on Logic Inference

Abstract: Chemical-based coordination models have proven useful to engineer self-organising and self-adaptive systems. Formal assessment of emergent global behaviours in self-organising systems is still an issue, most of the time emergent properties are being analysed through extensive simulations. This paper aims at integrating logic programs into a chemical-based coordination model in order to engineer self-organising systems as well as assess their emergent properties. Our model is generic and accommodates various lo… Show more

“…Logic Fragments. Logic Fragments, also called Logic-Based Chemical Coordination Model (LFCM) [81] is a chemical-based and programmable coordination model inspired to Sapere [50,82], itself a coordination model for multi-agent pervasive systems inspired to natural chemical reactions. Sapere is based on four main concepts: Live Semantic Annotations (LSAs), LSA Tuple Space, agents and eco-laws.…”

“…Logic Fragments ( [1]) are evaluated w.r.t. the current content L of the LSA Space through a function v L : LF → P(G) ∪ { }, which associates a Logic Fragment with its set of inferred literals (or to if the constraints to start the evaluations of the programs are not satisfied).…”

“…Following this approach, we have recently proposed a chemical-based coordination model where interactions among system properties are expressed under the form of combinations of logic programs, named Logic Fragments [1]. The features of our model, called Logic Fragment coordination model, are summarized as follows:…”

“…This means that the verification technique adopted to assess the emergent global behaviors of the final system has to cope with the features of the selected coordination model. To tackle this problem we have recently proposed a chemicalbased coordination model [1] based on the concept of Logic Fragments, which supports the three following properties.…”
