Logic Control of Directional Long‐Range Resonance Energy Transfer On 2D DNA Nanosheet

Abstract: By arranging fluorophores in a directional way on a 2D DNA nanosheet that transfers energy from the initial donor to the acceptor through homogeneous Förster resonance energy transfer (homo‐FRET), it is found that the photonic wires (PWs) based on cascade long‐range resonance energy transfer (LrRET) up to 15.6 nm can be effectively achieved through the rational selection of the fluorophores and the adjustment of their position with different distance. Then, logic control of directional energy transfer is achie… Show more

“…This is achieved by rationally programming the energy flow within networks through simple DNA hybridization or strand displacement reactions. These dynamic multiple-step FRET networks can be constructed on various DNA platforms such as dsDNA, DNA tiles, bricks, and origami . While the donor and acceptor are typically permanently positioned on the DNA template, intermediate chromophores mediating cascade energy flow are selectively introduced and removed from the DNA template.…”

“…These dynamic multiple-step FRET networks can be constructed on various DNA platforms such as dsDNA, 163 DNA tiles, 164 bricks, 165 and origami. 166 While the donor and acceptor are typically permanently positioned on the DNA template, intermediate chromophores mediating cascade energy flow are selectively introduced and removed from the DNA template. This reversible manipulation allows for the activation and deactivation of energy transfer in response to specific targets, such as DNA 167 or thrombin, 163 offering switchable control over the system.…”
