“…These dating results correspond with the 14 C ages obtained for bones in this unit (e.g. Arppe and Karhu, 2010;Wilczy nski et al, 2012Wilczy nski et al, , 2014bWojtal and Sobczyk, 2005). Test dating of the sample taken from a lens (trench C2), which is composed probably of older material distinctly differing from the direct surroundings, gave the result of 65.4 ka, which confirmed strong disturbance of the soil and mixing with older material.…”

“…14 C and IRSL dating: 14 C dating results, used in this study only as additional information, were taken from other papers (e.g. Wilczy nski et al, 2012Wilczy nski et al, , 2014b. The results of IRSL dating (J. Kusiak y), carried out according to the method described by Terpiłowski et al (2014), were published earlier by Łanczont et al (2013, 2014b).…”

“…The presence of numerous backed blades could be connected with the transport of hunted animals to this locus, and the further processing of carcass parts. A lack of the geometric tool forms and microgravettian points is one of the characteristic features of this inventory e in contract to other Late Gravettian site such as Jaksice II, Pet rkovice, Milovice and Tren canske Bohuslavice (Oliva, 1999;Za ar, 2007;Nov ak, 2008;Wilczy nski et al, 2015). Only a single fragment of a rectangle was discovered at the trench C2, and it represents a rather irregular form.…”

“…This conclusion is highly important because now the existence of Early Gravettian settlement in Lesser Poland is problematic. From this period in Lesser Poland there are two cave sites from which extraordinary osseous inventories and human remains were described e Obłazowa and Borsuka Cave (Valde-Nowak, 2003;Wilczy nski et al, 2015), and while both assemblages provide provocative data, their connection with Early Gravettian settlement is unclear. We state this on the basis of the early radiocarbon dates of Obłazowa Cave, the insubstantial lithic inventories, and the ambiguous stylistic ornamentation of the osseous artefacts at both cave sites.…”

“…However, in 2010, new work was undertaken at the presumed location of the site. Because the new site lies in the area of the old site it was called Jaksice II (Wilczy nski et al, 2015).…”
