“…In addition to chronic liver disease, this study also examined the impact of chronic diseases (coronary heart disease, hypertension, and DM) on the progression of hepatitis E patients to liver failure. It found that patients with DM rather than SLD were more likely to progress to liver failure, which is consistent with the findings of Tarantino et al [30].
