“…DISCUSSION The results reported here provide further information on the localization of FSH and LH in the rat testis. The staining obtained with the anti-FSH and anti-LH sera proved specific according to the following criteria (Leznoff, Fishman, Goodfriend, McGarry, Beck & Rose, 1960;Rümke & Ladiges, 1965): (1) staining was achieved exclusively with the antisera and was limited to testicular structures, (2) no staining occurred with non-immune sera or globulins, (3) in the direct test for the demonstra¬ tion of LH, staining was blocked by pretreatment of the sections with unlabelled anti-LH globulins, (4) staining was inhibited when the antisera were first absorbed with the corresponding antigens. Concerning the latter test, it should be noticed that the same gonadotrophic preparations used for immunization were employed as absorbents.…”
