Local three-nucleon interaction from chiral effective field theory

Abstract: The three-nucleon (NNN) interaction derived within the chiral effective field theory at the nextto-next-to-leading order (N 2 LO) is regulated with a function depending on the magnitude of the momentum transfer. The regulated NNN interaction is then local in the coordinate space, which is advantages for some many-body techniques. Matrix elements of the local chiral NNN interaction are evaluated in a three-nucleon basis. Using the ab initio no-core shell model (NCSM) the NNN matrix elements are employed in 3 H … Show more

“…[51,52]. For the 3N interactions we used the NNLO with a reduced local cutoff of Λ 3N = 400 MeV/c [43,53]. This includes the two-pion exchange contribution that was originally proposed by Fujita and Miyazawa [54].…”

“…[11]. However, significant variations of the 2 P 3/2 and 2 P 1/2 phase shifts at low-energy as a function of the number of states (the first seven) used to describe the 4 He nucleus did not allow for definitive conclusions on the ability of the present Hamiltonian to reproduce the observed 5 He properties. As shown in Fig.…”

“…The most advanced nuclear Hamiltonian from chiral EFT available in terms of matrix elements at the moment consists of a high-precision two-nulceon (NN) interaction at N 3 LO [1,2] along with a chiral three-nucleon (3N) force at N 2 LO [3,4]. Computations are underway to provide matrix elements of the 3N force consistently at order N 3 LO [5,6].…”
