Local Production of Soluble Urokinase Plasminogen Activator Receptor and Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor‐1 in the Coronary Circulation Is Associated With Coronary Endothelial Dysfunction in Humans

Abstract: BackgroundSoluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (suPAR) is a proinflammatory biomarker associated with immune activation and fibrinolysis inhibition. Plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI‐1) is associated with excessive fibrin accumulation, thrombus formation, and atherosclerosis.
