Local and geographic variation in the pheromone blend of the spruce beetle, Dendroctonus Rufipennis Kirby (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)

Abstract: A huge thanks to the many people at the Pacific Forestry Centre (Canadian Forest Service) in Victoria, BC who helped make this project possible. David Dunn and Rebecca Dixon at the Chemical Services Laboratory performed the GC-MS analyses of pheromone extracts. Eleanor Stewart and Charlene Lloyd sorted and counted trap catches from Rocky Mountain House, and Dr. Katherine Bleiker helped to locate and arrange for transport of infested spruce and feeding bolts from sites in BC and Alberta.
