LncRNA LINC01857 promotes growth, migration, and invasion of glioma by modulating miR‐1281/TRIM65 axis

Abstract: The great importance of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) has been acknowledged in tumorigenesis gradually. LncRNA LINC01857 is a novel lncRNA and has been reported to promote breast cancer progression. However, the biological roles of LINC01857 in glioma are not explored. In the present research, LINC01857 levels were found to be upregulated in glioma. In addition, LINC01857 expression is negatively correlated with survival rate in glioma patients. Functional investigation revealed that LINC01857 downregulation i… Show more

“…Increasing evidence reveals that lncRNAs participate in the tumorigenesis of glioma by acting as ceRNAs. For example, LINC01857 was found to interfere with miR-1281/TRIM65 to enhance glioma growth ( 13 ). H19 was found to promote glioma cell metastasis by interacting with miR-140 and thus modulating iASPP ( 14 ).…”

“…Both miR-19b and miR-1281 have been studied to play versatile roles in many human malignancies as well as inflammatory responses. [16][17][18] However, their roles in immune responses to bacterial infection remain largely unknown. Intriguingly, nuclear factor of activated T-cells 5 (NFAT5) was predicted as a shared target mRNA of miR-19b and miR-1281 according to the bioinformatics analysis.…”

“…As a consequence, the LINC00689/miR-338-3p/PKM2 axis functions as a carcinogenic driver in gliomas (16). Moreover, LINC01857 could promote tumorigenesis of glioma by sponging miR-1281 to upregulate TRIM65 expression (17). MALAT1 has been proved to have a crucial role in the progression of multiple neoplasms such as lung, colorectal and gastric cancers, and shows a comparable regulatory role in glioma.…”
