LncRNA GATA3‐AS1 facilitates tumour progression and immune escape in triple‐negative breast cancer through destabilization of GATA3 but stabilization of PD‐L1

Abstract: Objectives Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been demonstrated as crucial regulators in cancer, but whether they are involved in the immune response of cancer cells remains largely undiscovered. GATA3‐AS1 is a novel lncRNA that was upregulated in breast cancer (BC) according to online databases. However, its role in triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) was elusive. Methods GATA3‐AS1 expression in BC tissues and adjacent normal tissues was obtained from online databases. Loss‐of‐function assays were designed … Show more

“…However, the edge of GATA3−AS1 and HDAC7 had a significant correlation difference in several early response cells. GATA3 – AS1 has been reported to be involved in triple-negative breast cancer progression and immune escape by stabilizing the PD-L1 protein and degrading the GATA3 protein ( 27 ). In contrast, the edge of AATF and ERLIN2 showed no correlation difference in early response cells but had a correlation difference in other cells.…”

“…MIR17HG directly binds to PD-L1 and stabilizes the PD-L1 protein in CRC ( 43 ). A novel lncRNA GATA3-AS1 can also stabilize PD-L1 protein by preventing PD-L1 ubiquitination by means of the miR-676-3p/COPS5 axis in TNBC ( 44 ).…”

“…For instance, the HCC-derived exosomal lncRNA TUC339 affected the complicated immune microenvironmental interaction between tumor and immune cells by regulating the polarization of M1/M2 macrophages (16). Besides, lncRNA GATA3-AS1 promoted tumor development and immune escape in triple negative breast cancer by destabilizing GATA3 but stabilizing PD-L1 (17). Thus, it is essential to develop an expression profile based on immune-related lncRNAs that can predict the prognosis of LUAD patients and further guide appropriate individualized treatment strategies.…”
