LncRNA GACAT3: A Promising Biomarker and Therapeutic Target in Human Cancers

Abstract: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a class of functional RNA molecules that do not encode proteins and are composed of more than 200 nucleotides. LncRNAs play important roles in epigenetic and gene expression regulation. The oncogenic lncRNA GACAT3 was recently discovered to be dysregulated in many tumors. Aberrant expression of GACAT3 contributes to clinical characteristics and regulates multiple oncogenic processes. The association of GACAT3 with a variety of tumors makes it a promising biomarker for diagnos… Show more

“…Metastasis, a hallmark of cancer, was a complicated multistep process involving cell adhesion, invasion, and migration ( 84 ). It has been documented that SNHG15 modulates tumor metastasis primarily by regulating EMT, a pro-metastasis process that enabled cells to migrate more efficiently and invade the underlying mesenchyme ( 85 ).…”

“…Cancer remains one of the main causes of death in humans. The latest breakthrough in cancer research is the discovery and application of lncRNAs in cancer therapy [ 40 ]. Abnormal DLEU2 expression in cancer cells regulates the occurrence and development of tumors through a ceRNA mechanism [ 3 ], suggesting that DLEU2 is a potential therapeutic target.…”

“…Its regulatory processes are regulated by signaling molecules whose interactions with neighboring cells induce appropriate transcriptional and epigenetic responses 34 . The way epigenetic mechanisms regulate gene expression which is related to environmental factors, plays an important role in the development of various diseases such as tumors and in ammation 35,36 . In addition, epigenetic regulatory mechanisms may also affect the shape and size of teeth 5 .…”
