LncRNA FLVCR1-AS1 mediates miR-513/YAP1 signaling to promote cell progression, migration, invasion and EMT process in ovarian cancer

Abstract: Background Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been reported to be associated with the proliferation of several cancer cells. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of FLVCR1-AS1 in ovarian serous cancer (OSC). Methods FLVCR1-AS1 expression was determined in human OSC tissues, serums and cell lines. The role of FLVCR1-AS1 knockdown or overexpression on OSC cell growth, migration, invasion, apoptosis and epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) were evaluated… Show more

“…LncRNA NR_038323 suppresses the activity of miR‐324‐3p to up‐regulate DUSP1 with respect to suppressing renal fibrosis in diabetic nephropathy . LncRNA FLVCR1‐AS1 attenuates the suppression of miR‐513 on YAP1 activity in ovarian cancer . It is worth noting that the central role of lncRNAs or miRNAs has not been well investigated both functionally and mechanically, despite the strong indication of their importance in human diseases.…”

“…MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small RNAs (< 200 nt) that are known to repress the expression of their target genes by interacting with their binding sites on the target gene mRNAs and suppressing protein translation [6], and lncRNAs could regulate the expression of miRNA target genes by competitively binding to these miRNAs [7] . LncRNAs including FLVCR1-AS1, HOXD-AS1, MLK7-AS1 and HOTAIR [8][9][10][11] have been reported to promote ovarian cancer development through such mechanisms, while some other lncRNAs, such as MAGI2-AS3 [12], showed a cancer-suppressive role in ovarian cancer development.…”

“…In total, 75 potentially relevant records were obtained. After excluding the duplicated and unqualified papers, 13 studies involving 914 patients with 8 different types of cancers were enrolled in this meta-analysis ultimately [5,10,13,14,[17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25]. These included studies comprised renal cell carcinoma [10], glioma [14,18], hepatocellular carcinoma [17], colorectal cancer [13,20,21,24], ovarian clear cell carcinoma [19], gastric cancer [11], esophageal squamous cell carcinoma [11] and osteosarcoma [23,25].…”
