“…It is difficult to discuss all the 2D structure types (see Table ), and we will limit ourselves to a few typical ones. Among the structures with strictly alternating ZnO 4 and PO 4 tetrahedra, the commonly found one is that with a Zn/P ratio of 2/3 where a 12-membered bifurcated aperture is formed when the HPO 4 groups cross-link zigzag ladders (Figure b). ,,,, Then, there are also structures with 4.8 ,,, and 4.6.8 nets. Among the sheet structures with a tricoordinated oxygen, a stoichiometry of Zn 6 (HPO 4 ) 2 (PO 4 ) 4 with a Zn/P ratio of unity is the most common ,,,,, (Figure ).…”

“…Replacement of phosphate by arsenate in the framework leads to a variety of phases (Bu et al, 1998;Harrison et al, 1999), some of which are analogous to zincophosphates (Harrison et al, 1999). In our search for novel framework structures containing zinc in combination with P or As atoms, we have discovered two new zincophosphate materials, namely Zn 2 (HPO 4 ) 2 Cl 2 Á2C 6 H 14 N (Trojette et al, 1998) (Hajem et al, 1999). As part of these studies, we have examined the structure of [H 3 NC 6 H 12 NH 3 ] 0.5 [Zn 2 (AsO 4 )-(HAsO 4 )(H 2 O) 2 ], (I), and report here its synthesis and structural characterization.…”
The title compound, N,N,N′,N′‐tetramethylethylenediammonium diaqua(arsenate)(hydrogen arsenate)dizinc(II), (C6H18N2)0.5[Zn2(AsO4)(HAsO4)(H2O)2], is a new zincoarsenate obtained by hydrothermal synthesis. The structure consists of infinite two‐dimensional anionic layers alternating with planes containing centrosymmetric organic diprotonated template N,N,N′,N′‐tetramethylethylenediammonium cations, [H3NC6H12NH3]2+. The latter are interconnected to the framework through hydrogen bonds.
A hydrothermal reaction of a mixture of ZnCO 3 , phosphoric acid, 1,10-phenanthroline in H 2 O gave rise to large plates of a new zinc phosphate, [(C 12 H 8 N 2 Zn) 2 (HPO 4 )(H 2 PO 4 ) 2 ], I. The structure consists of ZnO 3 N 2 distorted trigonal-bipyramidal and PO 4 tetrahedral units linked through their vertices to give rise to a zero-dimensional molecular solid (monomer). The structure of the monomer appears to be similar to the secondary building unit (SBU) 4 ϭ1, commonly found in many fibrous zeolites. To our knowledge, this is the first time this building unit has been isolated. The structure, with a unique composition, is stabilized by hydrogen
