Liver Tumor Detection Using Image Processing Technique: A Survey

Abstract

A liver tumor is a dangerous medical illness that, if not identified and treated promptly, can be fatal. A tumor or lump may develop in the liver as a result of the aberrant cell proliferation. It's essential to spot liver tumors on CT scans so that patients can receive prompt and effective care. The inability of some medical professionals to read CT images could result in missed diagnosis and a delay in treatment.Different approaches have been developed to examine CT images for liver tumor detection in order to solve this issue. Traditional methods as well as deep learning (DL) and machine learning algorithms are among these strategies. The prognosis of patients and the rates of morbidity and mortality can both be improved by early liver tumor identification. This article examines 17 research papers and offers an overview of the many strategies used to diagnose liver tumors using CT scans. Understanding these strategies can help healthcare practitioners improve their capacity to detect and diagnose liver tumors, resulting in improved patient outcomes.
