Lithium ion beam experiments on PBFA II

Abstract: We present the results of particle-in-cell numerical simulations of one-dimensional, time dependent, fully relativistic double layers. We extend the scaling law for the layor width to relativistic potential drops and plasma temperatures. We also discuss quantitatively the layer creation and disruption cyclcs, as well as the beam-plasma instabilities driven by the layer.
