Summary Lithium‐ion batteries are widely used in the market, and are continuously improving, given their numerous benefits. Choosing the best materials for the cathode is fundamental for optimal battery pack projects. Lithium batteries using nickel cobalt aluminum and nickel manganese cobalt have technology that is already well consolidated within the market. However, some state‐of‐the‐art research describes important technological advances in lithium‐ion stores with lithium iron phosphate oxide and lithium titanate oxide. These have numerous advantages that can improve electric vehicle performance. Different battery technologies were analyzed in this paper, providing a guideline for lithium‐ion battery manufacturers. Previous evaluations on niobium batteries are also presented, analyzing comparative perspectives with lithium‐ion batteries. Advances in cutting edge knowledge show that niobium is a promising metal for use in lithium‐ion batteries. Niobium‐doped batteries have shown good conductivity at low temperatures and high energy density compared with other lithium‐ion storage systems. This study encourages researchers to further develop research on lithium‐ion batteries using a comparative study.

One automatic system for monitoring the presence of vehicles in a parking zone is an indispensable mean of an area such as services building, institutions, and other organizations, which accomodated many vehicles. A tracking record is the most important matter when the vehicle leaves the parking area. Manually, one parking officer will be needed to do the job. However, when using such an automated parking system, then this officers' job can be replaced. The vehicle license plate recording system is designed to use electronic-vision devices as a fundamental device for detecting the presence of vehicle. Vehicle license plates are detected using a digital camera which captured by the camera module on the Raspberry-Pi mini-pc microcontroller device, in addition to the detection of ultrasonic sensors that capture the position of vehicle objects. The process of reading vehicle numbers in an intelligent system of artificial neural networks to extracts each character of the license plate so that each number and letter can be recognized. Meanwhile, the detection of the ultrasonic parking sensor is a complementary confirmation indicating the presence of a vehicle object being monitored. The combination of solar power as the power supply for this automatic system is an important set-up that makes the system's electricity able to run independently. This monitoring system is prepared to help increase vehicle security automatically.

Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have emerged as a key technology to meet the demand for electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and portable electronics. In LIBs, a permeable porous membrane (separator) is an essential component located between positive and negative electrodes to prevent physical contact between the two electrodes and transfer lithium ions. Among several types, microporous polyolefin membranes have dominated the commercial separator market for LIBs operated with liquid electrolytes, favored for their chemical and electrochemical stability, high mechanical strength, uniform pore size, and inexpensive manufacturing and materials cost. In this review, we summarize the principles and theoretical background underlying conventional manufacturing processes and newly emerging microporous polyolefin separators. Based on their mechanical and physical properties, as collected from the literature, we introduce a number of processing type-dependent characteristics and universal correlations among their properties. This will provide a macroscopic view on the subject and a guideline for the development of next-generation separators.
