Lithium Cycling Efficiencies in LiAlCl4 ‐  SO 2 and LiAlCl4 ‐  SO 2Cl2 Electrolytes

Abstract: Cycling effieieneies and effective corrosion rates have been measured for lithium in LiA1C14-1.6 SO2, LiA1C14-3 SO2, 1M LiA1C14-SQC12, and LiA1C14-3 SO2 containing SO2C12. In addition, mixtures of 1M LiA1C14-SO2C12 with chlorine or sulfur dioxide were studied. Cycling efficiencies >90% have been obtained in LiA1C14-1.6 SO2 electrolyte.
