“…Camphor found in Lavandula officinalis and Cinnamomum camphora had antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities ( Lee et al, 2006 ; Barkat and Imène, 2012 ). Camphor is also found in other plants including Rosemary essential oil, which has been used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries ( Gonçalves et al, 2020 ). Alpha and beta thujone are detected in the oil of several plants including Salvia officinalis and Artemisia herba alba , which have been used in perfume, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food industries.…”

“…Previous research on the purification of essential oils using the liquid–liquid extraction method has been widely applied using appropriate solvent selection such as organic solvents mixed with water alcohol, ionic liquids, and deep eutectic solvents. Zhang, Sucipto, , Koshima, and Gonçalves have carried out experiments in separating essential oils using mixed solvents of water and alcohol at different temperatures and obtained the solubility of each solvent in separating essential oils. On the other hand, Domańska, Li, and Matsuda use ionic liquid solvents in purifying essential oils using liquid–liquid extraction, but ionic liquids have high viscosity, and the toxicity and price of ionic liquids are higher when compared to organic solvents.…”
