Liposome-A Comprehensive Approach for Researchers

Abstract: Bangham was first to develop these spherical-shaped nano-vesicles called liposomes in the early 1960s. Today, liposomes have emerged as crucial tools for bettering the delivery of drugs that majorly includes-antifungal drug, peptide hormones, enzymes, vaccines antimicrobial agents, drugs against cancer, and genetic materials. Following the different manufacturing practices and versatile properties liposomes can be categorized in various parameters of size, charge, poly-dispersity index, encapsulation efficienc… Show more

“…Using a mini extrusion kit, a membrane with a pore size of 100-500 nm will be applied such that LUVs may be formed. Liposomes will then be passed through a highpressure extruder for 10 cycles to obtain uniformly structured liposomes [26].…”

“…Glucoconjugates can suppress the expression of the efflux pump and thus can synergize the effect of current therapy. Another characteristic feature of glucolipids is that they can be utilized to make formulations like liposomes as they possess self‐aggregation properties, for targeted drug delivery (Corti et al, 2007; Sharma et al, 2020). In our present work, we have synthesized a library of glucoconjugates, particularly glucolipids with varied aliphatic chain lengths and were evaluated them for in vitro studies and selected compound was investigated for in vivo anti‐cancer activities.…”
