Linguistic Representation of Person in Educational Standard Text

Abstract

The study aims to reconstruct the linguistic image of a person on the basis of a subject’s professional characteristics. The article attempts to carry out a linguistic analysis of language content of the universal cultural, general professional and professional competences, which are expected of a pedagogical university graduate. Scientific novelty of the work is determined, above all, by the fact that the linguistic image of a person is for the first time reconstructed using a text of the official style, in particular, the federal state educational standard of higher education as the research material. The work is also novel in that the characteristics of a person’s linguistic image are identified with regard to a situation of obligation. The research findings convincingly illustrate possibility of recreating a person’s linguistic image on the basis of a normative document, the dominant characteristics of which are those associated with professional activity.
