Lingual Thyroid Causing Dysphagia: A Case Report and Review of Literature

Abstract: Introduction: Lingual thyroid is the presence of thyroid tissue in the midline anywhere between the circumvallate papillae of tongue and the epiglottis. It occurs due to embryonic failure of normal thyroid tissue to descend from base of tongue to neck.
