Linear quadratic regulator control of LC active power filter without reference current detection

Abstract: Active power filter (APF) is the most popular device in regulating power quality issues. Commonly, a APF controlled current by detected reference current and then tracked the reference current. However, the reference current detection sustain a large amount of computation, in addition, existing error and delay, which effect the dynamic and steady compensation performance of APF. In other hand, a optimal control is based on precise model. However, most literatures modeling in APF singly and rarely considering t… Show more

“…The structure diagram of LC APF with grid impedance is shown in Figure 1. Because a three-phase APF system is symmetrical, the system is analyzed with its single-phase circuit [12]. The single-phase circuit diagram of an APF with current controller is shown in Figure 2.…”

“…Shunt active power filter (SAPF) is a popular choice for achieving high power quality in grid-connected power electronic converters [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. However, SAPF mostly uses LCL output filters, which can cause resonance issues and poor power quality or instability.…”
