Very often in numerical calculations of magnetic field distribution in ferromagnetic materials it is necessary to take into account a certain model of the magnetic hysteresis presenting changes of the flux density as a function of the magnetic field strength. However, in many cases it is profitable to apply an inverse model of the magnetic hysteresis describing the relationship between the field strength and the flux density. This paper presents a relatively simple method of approximation of field strength changes during magnetization of electrical steel sheets. It is assumed that the field strength changes are a sum or a difference of a function which describes one curve of the limiting hysteresis loop and a certain "transient" component. A method of the determination of functions describing changes of the field strength for assumed changes of the flux density is discussed in the paper. Theoretical considerations have been confirmed by comparison between measured and calculated hysteresis loop for chosen dynamo and transformer steel sheets.

The performance of a VO 2 thin-film microbolometer has been investigated. The device is operated within 35°C Ͻ T Ͻ 60°C, in the hysteretic metal-insulator transition region. An algebraic hysteresis model has been used to model the resistance-temperature characteristic of the sensor. It accurately describes the resistance versus temperature characteristics of the material. Employing this model, and in conjunction with established bolometer theory, the responsivity of a VO 2 film is calculated and compared with experimental data. Superior performance of the device is achievable under conditions of single pulse incident radiation where the operating point remains on the major hysteresis loop. This results in a pronounced responsivity peak within the center of the metal-insulator transition. Continuous periodic excitation, in contrast, leads to a steadily decreasing and much lower sensitivity at higher temperature, due to the formation of minor hysteresis loops and the loop accommodation process.

O modelo de Preisach ja é amplamente utilizado há décadas nos mais diversos fenômenos de histerese. Todavia, tanto a implementação quanto a estimação de parâmetros deste modelo são intrincadas e trabalhosas. O propósito deste artigo ée estudar a capacidade do modelo de proximidade ao laçco principal (Limiting Loop Proximity) em emular apropriadamente o modelo de histerese de Preisach. O modelo L2P é uma alternativa de fácil implementação e obtenção de parâmetros. Os dados sintéticos são obtidos a partir do modelo de Preisach para uma histerese magnética típica. O objetivo é estimar os parâmetros do modelo L2P, de modo que se aproxime ao máximo dos dados sintéticos do modelo de Preisach. Para estimar os parâmetros foi escolhido o metodo PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization). Resultados das curvas de histerese são apresentados e o grau de similaridade de ambos os modelos ée discutido.
