Effet biocide des extraits aqueux bruts de Capsicum frutescens, Melia azedarach et Peganum harmala sur Euphyllura olivina Costa (Homoptera, Psyllidae) en verger Résumé Pour rechercher des méthodes alternatives aux pesticides de synthèse, des extraits bruts aqueux obtenus à partir des fruits de Melia azedarach L., Capsicum frutescens L., Peganum harmala L. ont été testés contre le psylle de l'olivier, Euphyllura olivina, en verger. Pour chaque espèce de plante, 50 g du poids sec des fruits/litre d'eau ont été pulvérisés sur des oliviers infestés par le psylle. Des arbres pulvérisés avec de l'eau ou du diméthoate ont été utilisés respectivement comme témoin et référence. Les populations de psylle ont été estimées 2, 6 et 14 jours après le traitement. Les produits testés affectent significativement le niveau des populations du psylle. Selon les jours après traitements, leurs densités varient de 0 à 9, de 2 à 90, de 0 à 64 et de 0 à 83 individus/rameau respectivement pour le diméthoate, M. azedarach, C. frutescens et pour P. harmala. Elles sont inférieures à celles relevées chez le témoin sur lesquels les densités de psylle vont de 32 à 101 individus/rameau. Les produits d'origine botanique manifestent une toxicité différée dans le temps et fugace. Les résultats obtenus sont discutés dans la perspective d'élaborer une stratégie de gestion intégrée des bioagresseurs de l'olivier. Abstract Biocide effect of crude aqueous extracts of Capsicum frutescens, Melia azedarach and Peganum harmala on in-orchard Euphyllura olivina Costa (Homoptera, Psyllidae)Seeking alternative control methods against the olive psyllid, Euphyllura olivina, crude aqueous extracts of Capsicum frutescens, Melia azedarach and Peganum harmala were used on trees infested with the pest. Fifty grams of each dried plant extract/liter of water were sprayed. Trees treated with water or dimethoate were used respectively as control or standard. The population densities of the psyllid were counted 2, 6 and 14 days after treatment. The extracts significantly affected the psyllid populations. According to the observation period, the densities of the insect varied from 0 to 64, 2 to 90 and from 0 to 83 individuals/olive branch for C. frutescens, M. azedarach and for P. harmala, respectively. In the controls blocks, the psyllid densities ranged from 0 to 9 and from 32 to 101 individuals/olive branch for dimethoate and water, respectively. The results are discussed in the perspective of olive pest management.

This no-choice, laboratory study focuses on the feeding of dried, ground, homogeneous powdered, unprocessed fruit and leaves of Azadirachta indica and Melia azedarach to Lutzomyia longipalpis larvae to determine the effects on their mortality and metamorphosis. A. indica and M. azedarach fruit and leaves significantly increased larval mortality in comparison to larvae fed the untreated, standard diet. A. indica fruit and leaves blocked the molting of the larvae to the fourth instar, resulting in them remaining as third instars until the end of the experiment. M. azedarach fruit also blocked the molting of larvae, which remained permanently in the fourth instar. Feeding M. azedarach leaves resulted in greater molt inhibition. All insects in this group stopped their development as second-instar larvae. No antifeedant effect was detected for any experimental treatment. The results indicate that nontoxic, unprocessed materials obtained from A. indica and M. azedarach are potent development inhibitors of L. longipalpis larvae.

Unitermos: Extratos de planta, Diptera, Melia azedarach, regulação do desenvolvimento, atividade biológica. ABSTRACT:Crudes extracts and fractions from seeds of Melia azedarach L. (Meliaceae) have been assayed on Musca domestica Linnaeus, 1758 (Diptera: Muscidae). Thus, the postembryonic development of the fl ies was reduced and the delay from newly hatched larvae to adults had signifi cant increase. In addition, the pupal weights were reduced and the sexual ratio altered. Toxicity to fl y eggs was also observed.
