Abstract:• Dermatologic changes may be the only physical exam findings in patients with complex regional pain syndrome type 1. • Vasomotor instability is a key feature of complex regional pain syndrome. Novel Insights • Onychoscopy of the proximal nail fold in patients with complex regional pain syndrome may reveal capillary changes such as a "lightning-storm" appearance.
