Light-harvesting by Botryococcus braunii

Abstract: The colonial green alga Botryococcus braunii is a promising candidate for biofuel production due to its high hydrocarbon content. However, slow growth limits its potential. We studied its photosynthetic machinery and photoacclimation to identify possible growth limitations.
