Light axial vector mesons

Abstract: Inspired by the abundant experimental observation of axial vector states, we study whether the observed axial vector states can be categorized into the conventional axial vector meson family. In this paper we carry out analysis based on the mass spectra and two-body Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka-allowed decays. Besides testing the possible axial vector meson assignments, we also predict abundant information for their decays and the properties of some missing axial vector mesons, which are valuable to further experimental… Show more

“…As the line shape is incompatible with that of Y (4260) in e + e − → π + π − J/ψ, the authors of Ref. [21] suggest the excess of ωχ c0 events due to a missing charmonium state, while Ref. [22] attributes it to the tail of the ψ(4160).…”

“…The conventional theory of mesons that considers them as particles composed of a quark and antiquark qq meets with abundance of observed light states that should be included into this scheme. In fact, the family of axial-vector mesons contained till now five states with the spin-parities J PC ¼ 1 þþ [2], recently enlarged due to discovery by COMPASS Collaboration of a new resonance a 1 ð1420Þ with the same quantum numbers [3]. Some of these states including a 1 ð1420Þ meson were listed in Ref.…”
