“…We prepared our radioactive sources by 5 h irradiations of a few mg CdO enriched in 116Cd to 95 % with thermal neutrons at the Kernforschungsanlage Jiilich. With the half-life of the 589 keV state 7"1/2(589 keV)=0.192 (16) (average of the measured values given in [14] and [15]) we finally obtain the ~-factor: A 2 = +0.261 (2) g3/2-(589 keV)= +0.068(39). Every few hours some more activity was added in order to compensate for the radioactive decay.…”

“…They could evaluate only the centroid shift. The measurement by Chilos et al [3] exhibits a reduced slope in comparison with the prompt curve in the time spectrum of the 7-7 coincidences taken by use of two fast plastic detectors. The authors claim that the background of unwanted cascades is negligibly small and derived a half-life from the observed shape.…”

“…Our quoted result for the g-factor relies on a value for the half-life of the state which was taken from the literature: T1/2(llVIn, 589 keV)= 192(16) ps. [3,4].…”
