“…The half-life of the excited 11/2 − 1 state in 103,105 Cd, measured in present work, allows a systematical study of the E1 transitions strenghts as a function of the neutron number. The half-life T 1/2 =71 ns of the 11/2 − 1 state in 107 has been previously measured [13]. This level decays via a branch of E1, M2 and E3 transitions to 9/2 + , 7/2 + and 5/2 + states with partial half-lives 2.4×10 −7 , 1.0×10 −7 and 4.5×10 −6 s respectively.…”

“…The value of this ratio could be affected by the long lifetime [8] of the 11/2-level, as the 1~ nuclei produced in the last downstream part of the target could recoil into vacuum and decay after they are stopped somewhere on the chamber end-walls. This is not the case for the 205 keV level in l~ whose lifetime is 1.03 ns [3]. The maximum fraction of recoil nuclei escaping from the target was estimated to be about 6 %.…”

“…In this work we report the measurement of the K-internal conversion coefficient c~ K of the 205.0keV MI+E2 transition in ~~ [23 which is /-forbidden and hindered by a factor of 300 (as calculated from the data of [3,4,5]) with respect to the Weisskopf estimate. From the measured value of c~ K and the known value [1][2][3][4] of the mixing ratio 62 , the value of 2 can be obtained. It is to be noted that previous experimental data on c~ K [63 and on the conversion ratio K/L [73 for this transition cannot give significant information on 2 due to their large experimental error.…”

“…CaO targets were bombarded by 3.1 MeV deuterons at the Yale University cyclotron and proton absorption spectra were recorded. A group of protons with a range of 66 cm was attributed to the formation of 41 Aston observed 42,43 Ca for the first time in 1934 as described in ''Constitution of hafnium and other elements'' [18]. The stable isotopes were identified with an anode discharge tube installed at the Cavendish Laboratory mass spectrograph.…”
