Lifelong robbery victimisation and mental disorders at age 18 years: Brazilian population-based study

“…Robbery is one of the most important forms of exposure to community violence ( 16 – 20 ), and a previous study carried out in Pelotas found that robbery victimization was associated with depression and anxiety among adolescents ( 19 ), in line with other studies performed in high-income countries, such as United States and England ( 21 , 22 ).
