The article analyses a wide range of existing technological systems for machining engineering production from special aggregate machines with rigid kinematic connection (control system) to portable machines with mechanisms of parallel structure, which are based on the aggregate-modular principle of the layout. The advantages and disadvantages of such equipment in the modern conditions of manufacturing development are considered in terms of their life cycle in the supply chain and the prospects for further implementation in the machine tool market. The authors analyze the contradictions between the performance and technological flexibility of machining systems and propose ways of resolving these contradictions on the basis of scientific achievements in the field of components, mechatronics, and CALS technologies. On the basis of the performed analysis, the authors suggest a concept and partially implemented a technique for creating various purpose machine-tool systems based on unified technological mechatronic modules considering the tendencies of modern machine-tool production to ensure the sustainability of enterprises under conditions of rapidly changing demand. The prospects of using augmented reality (AG) manufacturing tools for passportization of equipment and its components in order to optimize and green the life cycle of metal-cutting equipment have been substantiated.

An analysis of common reinforcement methods of machine parts and theoretical bases for the selection of their chemical composition were carried out. Prospects for using flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) to restore and increase the wear resistance of machine parts in industries such as metallurgy, agricultural, wood processing, and oil industry were presented. It is noted that conventional series electrodes made of tungsten carbide are expensive, which limits their widespread use in some industries. The scope of this work includes the development of the chemical composition of tungsten-free hardfacing alloys based on the Fe-Mo-B-C system and hardfacing technology and the investigation of the microstructure and the mechanical properties of the developed hardfacing alloys. The composition of the hardfacing alloys was developed by extending the Fe-Mo-B-C system with Ti and Mn. The determination of wear resistance under abrasion and impact-abrasion wear test conditions and the hardness measurement by means of indentation and SEM analysis of the microstructures was completed. The results obtained show that the use of pure metal powders as starting components for electrodes based on the Fe-Mo-B-C system leads to the formation of a wear-resistant phase Fe(Mo,B)2 during FCAW. The addition of Ti and Mn results in a significant increase in abrasion and impact-abrasion wear resistance by 1.2 and 1.3 times, respectively.

Locating Chart Choice Based on the Decision-Making Approach

Modern manufacturing engineering requires quick and reasonable solutions during the production planning stage, ensuring production efficiency and cost reduction. This research aims to create a scientific approach to the rational choice of a locating chart for complexly shaped parts. It is an important stage during the manufacturing technology and fixture design process. The systematization of the designed and technological features of complexly shaped parts and the definition of the features that impact a locating chart create the fundamentals for justification. A scientific approach has been developed using the complex combination of the part’s features and a decision-making approach using the example of bracket-type parts. The matrix of design and technological features of parts was developed including steel AISI 3135 and cast iron DIN 1691. The classification of locating charts for bracket-type parts was defined. A mathematical model of the rational choice of the locating chart according to the structural code of the workpiece was verified in case studies from the practice. As a result, a decision-making approach was applied to the rational choice of the locating chart for any bracket-type part. The proposed solutions improve the production planning stage for machine building, automotive, and other industries.
