El hallazgo de un entierro humano masculino de 35-40 años de edad del sitio de Zapallal, Puente Piedra, Lima, con el diagnóstico de cáncer metastásico ha permitido retomar el tema de la paleopatología del cáncer en el área andina. El artículo describe el contexto funerario, los huesos afectados, el diagnóstico diferencial y las discusiones en torno a sus posibles causas a la luz del enfoque biocultural. Concluyendo que esta severa lesión que afectó a los principales huesos sistémicos de la región toraco-abdominal habría sido el de cáncer de próstata.
