“…The endoparasitoid habit of the larvae, as well as the great diversity of taxa, host use, and oviposition strategies exhibited by tachinid flies characterise them as one of the most diverse and remarkable families among Diptera (Stireman et al 2006;O'Hara 2013;Stireman et al 2019). Members of the tribe Goniini make a clear example of this diversity, due to its unusual habit of depositing microtype eggs that are ingested by their hosts, mostly caterpillars Ho et al 2011;Nakamura 2018).
